Ingredients:
  • 1-1.5 lbs of ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chopped sweet potatoes
  • 1/2-1 cup celery, diced
  • 2 cups sauce (15 oz) diced tomatoes then fill the rest of the 2 cups up with water
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/4 tsp allspice powder
Instructions:
  1. Combine all the spices and salt in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Add oil to pan and cook onions until translucent. Add ground beef and garlic. Cook through. 
  3. Pour red sauce and broth in. Add spice mixture. Mix good, cover and let simmer for 5 minutes. 
  4. Add sweet potatoes and celery, mix good. Cover and simmer gently for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
