Ingredients:
- 1-1.5 lbs of ground beef
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chopped sweet potatoes
- 1/2-1 cup celery, diced
- 2 cups sauce (15 oz) diced tomatoes then fill the rest of the 2 cups up with water
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 Tbsp chili powder
- 1 Tbsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder
- 1/4 tsp allspice powder
Instructions:
- Combine all the spices and salt in a bowl and set aside.
- Add oil to pan and cook onions until translucent. Add ground beef and garlic. Cook through.
- Pour red sauce and broth in. Add spice mixture. Mix good, cover and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add sweet potatoes and celery, mix good. Cover and simmer gently for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
